I've had an interest and appreciation for wildflowers since high school. I've taken some formal botany courses at different universities as well as a few wildflower classes in the field (one in Sweden, four in Alaska). I've been an active member of the Alaska Native Plant Society since about 1990. Alaska claims to have the most native orchids (so do Florida and Hawaii).
